Managers & Coaches -
Apparently a scammer is exploiting the contact buttons on the Wolfpack website and spoofing messages that appear to be from Vito. Please ignore these messages as they are SPAM / JUNK.
I have been in contact with Sports Engine and asked if there was a way they can increase the security on the forms to prevent scammers / robots from entering the information. (hopefully will hear back soon)
Your email address is NOT exposed on the website. The hacker is simply filling out a form, submitting it to Sports Engine and Sports Engine is forwarding the contents of that form to you.
We keep these contact forms available so other teams can confirm games, or parents / players can contact coaches / managers. If you prefer NOT to have a contact from for your email, Let me know and I will redirect it to mine.
I'm an IT Director and I see this stuff all day long. Just a couple of common sense tips.
- Don't make contact with the scammers (we don't want them to know you are a human, as they will continue to try to exploit you)
- Don't click on links in unsolicited emails, or any message you were not expecting
- Never buy gift cards, take pictures of them and send to Vito (or anyone) in email. (you would think this is common sense but people fall for this all day long - I know a few)
